Lake Balaton destination
A dream destination… I found a little gem in the heart of Balaton district! That is how I can best describe this little charming lakeside town in Hungary which dates back to the eighteen hundreds. Only 2 hours by car or train from Budapest, not far at all! You arrive in a totally different part of Balaton and Europe. The best thing is not to to have any expectations and you might just get pleasantly surprised. This little town is totally walk able on foot and you can get around in just a few hours the most. The promenade is full of life and activity as holiday makers enjoy the well manicured parks and beautiful spring flowers that pave the town’s walkways. The selection of restaurants and coffee shops as well as little bistro’s are superb! There is something for everyone young and old! There is very much of a cosmopolitan selection with well decorated exteriors. The yacht club is not short of beautiful views and sunsets. Small and big boats decorate the lake and set the magical atmosphere for Lake Balaton especially relaxing to watch during early mornings and sunsets. If you are looking for a small relaxation to unwind and escape the every day city life, Balatonfüred is just the most ideal quite town but still has all amenities if you feeling a little adventures. You can hire bicycles and cycle to other towns and little stop overs in the area where you can enjoy a glass of drink or just a cosy picnic along the lake or by the forest. Not to mention there are plenty of parks and nature activities as well such as hiking or wine tasting. Plenty of Bed and Breakfasts or as they call it Panzio in Hungarian around or a few larger hotels perhaps if you prefer ready made beds and all inclusive accommodation with big swimming pools and sun umbrellas.
